RoboCup Junior, Belgium

Probo wordt voor het eerst aan het publiek getoond tijdens RoboCup Junior op 16 mei in Technopolis

RoboCup Junior is een robotwedstrijd voor het basis- en voortgezet onderwijs. Gestart als een initiatief vanuit Australië wordt het in meer dan 27 landen over de gehele wereld gespeeld. Vanaf nu ook in België!!! Er worden twee disciplines georganiseerd: dansen en redden. Tijdens dit superleuk event kan je ook heel wat andere robots zien met natuurlijk ook Probo! Je kan ook welf het ProboGotchi spel spelen.

Wetenschapsfeest 2008, October 17-19 2008, Mechelen Nekkerhal

Eurobot 2008 Conference, May 21-24 2008, Heidelberg

An amazing event gathering fun, high technology, friendship, creativity, education and passion! Created in 1998, Eurobot is a international amateur robotics contest open to teams of young people below the age of 30, organised either in student projects or in independent clubs. Every year, several national qualifications take place before the final that is held in a different country each edition. In 2008, it will be in 28 different countries, represented by 450 teams and 70 robots that will gather in Heidelberg (Germany) for the EUROBOT 2008 final, from 21st - 25th of May. There is also the international EUROBOT Conference 2008 taking place in parallel, where industry and universities present state of the art robotic research. One part of the EUROBOT Conference 2008 is also the topic "Robotics for Education", especially in high schools.

AISB 2008 Convention, April 1-4 2008, Aberdeen

The AISB 2008 Convention will be in the University of Aberdeen from April 1-4, organised by Frank Guerin and Wamberto Vasconcelos. The AISB convention is an annual event organised as a number of collocated symposia loosely organised around a theme, and interspersed with invited plenary talks and poster sessions. The theme for the 2008 convention is "Communication, Interaction and Social Intelligence". This is a return to the same broad area as the highly successful AISB 2005 convention on "Social Intelligence and Interaction in Animals, Robots and Agents".

Createch Engineering, new partner, March 17 2008, Huizingen

Createch Engineering is specialised in automation in the following domains: Pick & Place, Packing, Palletizing and specials. To realise all this, they have their own engineering office, production plant, assembly and service department. The Anty team members visited Createch Engineering and recieved a donation.

HRI 2008, March 12-15 2008, Amsterdam

The Third Annual International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction is dedicated to these and other issues in HRI. The theme of HRI2008, "Living With Robots", highlights the importance of the technical and social issues underlying long-term human-robot interation towards companion and assistive robots for long-term use in everyday life and work activities. HRI is a single-track, highly selective annual conference that seeks to showcase the very best interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in human-robot interaction with roots in psychology, cognitive science, HCI, human factors, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

COGNIRON WS on HRI, January 21-25 2008, Lausanne

In order to make the gathered expertise and the latest findings in the field of human-robot interaction (HRI) accessible to students and young researchers in the community, the COGNIRON winter school on HRI (CWSHRI) will cover the following topics:

Interaction design of social robots
Concepts for interaction management
Learning and imitation
Cognitive maps
System integration facing real world challenges
Evaluation of interactive robots

The CWSHRI is funded by EURON and COGNIRON and organized by the EPFL and the Bielefeld University.

European Motor Show Brussels, January 17-27 2008, Brussels

The Anty foundation visited the European Motor Show together with the children and Luc Bontemps, managing director of Febiac.

IURS on Assistive Robots September 24-28 2007, Spain

The 7th International UJI Robotics School on Assistive Robots, Benicassim, Spain. This summerschool included lectures, practical work, and group discussions on topics related to the design, development and programming of Assistive Robots.
